I found some old postcards from an OP Shop / vintage shop in Paeroa, about 10 km from Tauranga in New Zealand (about 120 km from Auckland). There’s this charming shop there, but it’s overwhelmingly vintage – and I mean stuff from 1950’s and earlier. From broken watches to plates to creepy-looking dolls – they have it.
I try to pick up old postcards from shops when I can, but this might be the first time I’ve seen some that were actually written and sent postcards – so I picked some up, and then picked more up on the way back to Auckland.

Does it feel like I’m sort of prying on a private conversation? Maybe, but it was sold off, and I picked them up because I had a longing for reading in between the lines of conversations, and now I’m sharing them with you because I’m not greedy and maybe this helps our collective loneliness.
See? It’s like saying, “I miss the times I picked shells with you, but I’m hoping sending you a card would be enough to convey that.”

But also: A Florida postcard that’s printed in Ireland? Talk about international.
I will post all under this category: Vintage Finds so feel free to check back when you miss them
