January Blues

Didn’t get to stop her. Ah, well.

You’re a chore as always, Manila. But you were still a bit nice to me. That was fun, thank you.

I’m letting you know I feel lukewarm

I seem to have a new favourite word. My colleague keeps teasing me because whenever she asks my opinion on things, I tell her, I feel a bit lukewarm about it. I’ve upgraded my vocabulary from saying so-so, or meh, or just shrugging my shoulders, to actually coming up with a word that I feel so strongly about whenever I utter it: lukewarm.

There’s a feeling of novelty to it, like a millennial discovering a new blend of avocado to put on her toast. Kidding. But it’s encompassing a great deal of emotions that I can’t quite seem to expound on, because let’s be honest, no one needs to hear a dissertation of my sentiments. Kind of gotten stuck together now

October 12, 2017

It’s 1 in the morning, so naturally, I ramble.

Flew in for the Pho

There were a few things that changed after moving to Singapore: how I viewed and valued my work, how efficiency ruled my world, and moving at a faster pace is a given. What I didn’t anticipate is how I started to treat vacations – something I’m still conflicted if it’s because Singapore happened to me or because I’m simply getting older. When I was younger, vacations needed to be memorable and sleepless like a sprint to cross off as many items from a list as you can–after all, I’m paying for something expensive that I’m likely not going to see again so might as well do EVERYTHING. Ate this? Check. Seen that? Check.

Which is good, because now in my 30s and with meager energy, I’m flying to places just to eat. Or so I thought.

Folks, welcome to my trip to Vietnam.
